Stick Ranger ver17.6

Yay!  New Stick Ranger weapons!  I had a look through them and a lot of them look really cool.  So let’s go though them really quick.

Needle Cestus – This one is like its previous version, except it fires 60 tiny needles and in a less wide range, leading more of them to hit enemies.

Lightsaber 8 – It’s no surprise that the lightsaber is my favorite Gladiator weapon, so it delights me to see them add another upgrade for it.  It’s just more powerful, what else can I say?

Vigintuple Arrow – This thing fires 20 arrows at once apparently.  That is pretty impressive, especially with a Bullet’s Card.

Ice Missile – This one it cool.  It fires a three-way shot out at enemies that pierces through multiple fores.  It even has the cold effect too.  Dare I say it, I might finally replace my beloved Ice Meteor with this thing.  It is my favorite weapon in the game, but this Ice Missile is extremely powerful while not feeling like a weird downgrade.  That and it still has that cold effect, which I like.

Freeze Exp Rod – It’s an upgrade to the last freezing rod by dealing more damage.

Slow Laser Gun – The laser weapons are probably my favorite for the Gunner, and this one is an upgrade in which the laser beams move slower.  This is a neat change because it lets the lasers stay on enemies easier, which leads to multiple hits.

Thorn Morning Star – Like the Needle Cetus, this upgrade fires more needles in a denser range.  It doesn’t look nearly as impressive, but it’s more powerful.

Power God – It’s a very powerful ring with no magical abilities.

Man, quite a lot of upgrades.  Many of these are very fun and I’ll probably be replacing many of my weapons with them.

Stick Ranger ver17.5

The update for this week is a new Stick Ranger level, yay!  This time they added a new Hell level called Hell 7.  It’s inhabited mostly by those wheel monsters, so the old trick of holding a ranger above them does work to a point.  The level was very easy, however the boss caught me off guard a little.

On the map, I find it interesting how the level takes place below the previous cavern level.  I thought it would go upwards towards that big castle, but apparently they have different plans.  I’m very curious to see where this goes.

Planet simulation ver1.9

It appears that the creators of the Dan-Ball games are currently doing this for many of their games.  Last week they did it for Earth Editor, and this week they did it for Planet Simulation.  It appears that they are adding optimizations to the font of the games ,as well as making them run smoother in 60FPS.  Who knows if they’ll add some content next week or do this for another one of their games.

Earth Editor ver2.7

A very small performance-related update today for the game Earth Editor.  Two things have changed.  Firstly, they have optimized the font of the game.  I never played this game too much, so I’m unsure what they changed here, but I would imagine they have made the font of the game more crisp or stand out more.  Secondly, they optimized the framerate of the game, making it so the game runs better in 60FPS.  A very nice change.

Monster Box ver4.9

Another short update.  Today they added four new medals that you can obtain by increasing a certain stat of the enemies you fight.  This is a cool update to me since beforehand there really wasn’t a reason to upgrade those stats, since they’re usually not worth the trouble they can cause you.  Now they can at least give you some medals.

Monster Box ver4.8

I was at Portcon for most of the day so this is coming a little late, but I finally got around to playing the new update.  This one appears to be the exact opposite to the Class Only medals.  Medals from that update requires you to use all of the same class, and this update adds a bunch of medals that require you to have at least one ranger of every class.  It’s kind of interesting.  I’ll be seeing how many I can get and get the video up tomorrow.

Monster Box ver4.7

A very simple update today, but one that I honestly feel was very necessary for a game like this.  A few months from now when we’re playing this game, we won’t be able to imagine how we played without this new feature, it’s that kind of update.

So no new content was added to the game, but what they did was add the ability for us to hold our mouse down on an upgrade button, and a second later it will rapidly upgrade the stat provided you have the money.  It’s kind of cool, and it’s a very nice addition too.

Monster Box ver4.6

Whoa!  They added a lot of new medals today.  12 to be exact.  It seems like ha55ii is now adding medals to the game that make it impossible to get each and every one in a single playthough.  Kind of an interesting way to do it considering how incremental games usually work.

So what the new medals do is they award the player for achieving a high enough total level, total money, or total DPS all while having all of your rangers be of a certain class.  It doesn’t matter which one, in fact, it appears there’s one for doing this with each class, but each of your rangers needs to be the same exact class in order for these achievements to work.

I’ll be playing around with this and seeing which medals I can get.  I’ll probably focus on the Gladiator or the Sniper since I find those 2 classes to be the best in Monster Box right now.  Video tomorrow with the results as well as any new information I can find!

Monster Box ver4.5

Today they added 2 new additions.  First was three new medals, and seconds was a bug fix involving the Flame Armor ability of the magician.  I really didn’t know what the bug was with the magician, so I can’t really comment on it, but I checked out the new medals, which are basically achievements.

The new medals all have one thing in common.  And that’s that they can all be gotten in the first 10 minutes of play.  In any of these sorts of games, I was never good at getting these, and I tried my best to get them, but I couldn’t do it.  I always fumble about what to prioritize.

There was 1 10-minute medal I was able to get though, it was the one for collecting 5 jewels.  However the achievement popped up when the timer hit 10:05.  I wasn’t able to collect footage of this, so you’re going to have to take my word on it.  Maybe this was a glitch, or maybe it was something else.
